Karazin University Is the Best University in Ukraine and Among the World’s Top 500 Universities: Results of QS World University Rankings 2021

Karazin University now ranks 477
The results of the QS World University Rankings 2021 have been announced. This is the seventh time that V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University has been among the 500 best universities of the world, now ranking 477th. This is the best result among all Ukrainian higher education institutions included in the Rankings.
Karazin University improved its position in the Rankings by 14 positions, compared to the QS-2020.
Among the world’s best universities, the positions of Ukrainian higher education institutions are the following:
- V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (477),
- Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University of (601–650), National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” (651–700),
- National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” (701–750),
- Sumy State University (701–750),
- Lviv Polytechnic National University (801–1000).
The QS World University Rankings is a global study of educational and scientific achievements of higher education institutions of world significance and is one of the most influential rankings in the world.
Universities are assessed by the following indicators: activity and quality of research, teaching and internationalization, their academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citation per faculty (according to Scopus ).
