STRUCTURE

Training activity is provided by eight departments:

• Department of Economic Theory and Economic Management Methods;

• Department of Economic Cybernetics and Applied Economics;

• Department of International Economics;

• Department of Finance and Credit;

• Department of Statistics, Accounting and Auditing;

• Department of Marketing and Management of Foreign Economic Policy;

• Department of Economics and Management;

• Department of Mathematical Methods in Economics.

FACULTY

Methodological, research, and educational work is provided by more than 100 highly-qualified specialists, including a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, 21 doctors of sciences, full professors and 60 PhDs, associate professors. The educational process involves the major experts of the ministries, departments of the city and regional council, the regional administration, Kharkiv’s leading banks and enterprises, well-known professors of foreign universities.

• Andrii Hrytsenko — Doctor of Economics, Full Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;

• Viktoriia Yevtushenko — PhD in Economics, Associate Professor;

• Hryhorii Zadorozhnyi — Doctor of Economics, Full Professor;

• Tamara Merkulova — Doctor of Economics, Full Professor;

• Zarif Nazirov — PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor;

• Volodymyr Sobolev — Doctor of Economics, Full Professor.

TRAINING ACTIVITY

The following forms of studies are available at the School of Economics: full-time, part-time studies, and second higher education. E-learning technologies (distance learning) are introduced in the educational process. The School offers the opportunity for students of other University schools and other higher educational institutions to obtain an economist’s or manager’s degree parallel to their first one.
The School provides a part-time Master’s degree course through distance learning technologies in Applied Economics, Banking, Finance and Credit, Administrative Management; a Bachelor’s degree course in Finance and Credit.

The School offers second higher education on Finance (fields: “Finance of Enterprises”, “Tax Studies”, “Insurance Studies”); Banking; International Economics (field ­— “Customs Studies”); Administrative Management; Applied Economics.

There is a possibility to undergo internships in France (University of Nice Sophia Antipolis).

Pre-diploma practice is available for students in all fields. Practical training of students is an important part of the educational process and is aimed at making students acquire the system of professional abilities and skills, as well as the initial experience of professional activity.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
The School offers postgraduate and doctorate programs in a number of specialities. There work the Thesis Commitee on Economics and National Economy Management, Economic Theory and History of Economic Thought, Demography, Labor Economics, Social Economy and Politics, Money, Finance and Credit.

The School publishes the University Bulletin, series Economics, and the scientific journal “Sotsialna Ekonomika”.
The School annually holds the All-Ukrainian Research and Practice Conference of Undergraduate, Postgraduate Students and Young Scientists, international research and practice conferences, Internet-conferences, roundtables on relevant topics.
The School is conducting five complex research works, four of which are carried out at the request of the state and are financed from the state budget.

Students are involved in research, working in the Student Research Society.
The School regularly holds University’s and all-Ukrainian competitions of student research works and olympiads on different fields.

EMPLOYMENT PROSPECTS FOR GRADUATES

The School’s graduates work as economists, finance experts, civil servants, accountants, programmers, analysts, auditors at the institutions of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, in banks, planning, financial, and accounting departments of enterprises, tax offices, and also as teachers of economic disciplines in higher educational institutions.

The best graduates pursue postgraduate studies.
